Honey, I'm home!!

Well I've made it back to good ol' Vancouver!! My flight home was delayed 1 & 1/2 hours, which isn't too bad considering some flights were cancelled. The flight was pretty good, not too much turbulence. Started my trip home off right with some family visiting. It was nice to be welcomed home with big hugs. Tried to sleep in a little on Christmas morning, but my dad couldn't wait any longer and got me up at 9. But it felt like 6am in my world. Opened presents and had some breakfast. Oh yeah and then the power went out for four hours!! Not so fun. Went to my aunt's for christmas dinner. Lots and lots of yummy food!!! M'mm shortbread cookies!

Boxing Day was at my cousins' house. And again more yummy food! Saw lots of family which was really nice. I really miss you guys a lot. BUT Vancouver doesn't really get any snow and it's way warmer here. So if you can get the environment to warm up there, then I'll put some thought into going back.

Spent some more time with the family on Monday and Tuesday. Was supposed to go to Peterborough, but my brother's truck was puking out oil and by the time it was fixed, I was too tired to drive there. I hope those who I was supposed to visit can find it in their hearts to forgive me. I know, I suck. I'll be home again in June!!

The flight back was on time which was great...AND there was satelite TV!!!

Now I'm trying to get caught up on my lost sleep....

1 more sleep!

Well here I am, 10:30 at night packing to go home. I think I have everything I need, digital camera, computer, presents...oh yeah and clothes, too!

The flights have been delayed because of the winter storm in Ontario. Man, I get about as far as I can away from snow and still be in Canada and it still plays havoc with my plans! Storms suck! So I've been tracking the flights online and most are just leaving later than scheduled. Not so bad, I guess, but at this rate I won't be able to make Christmas Eve in Stouffville. Thank goodness for Boxing Day!

Heading to bed soon...keep your fingers crossed my flight is on time!

T minus one week and counting!

8 more sleeps til I fly home! Can you say excited? I can...EXCITED!!!! That is very much what I am right now, and I'm thinking it's only going to get worse from here...

So Christmas shopping! Have you done yours?? I haven't eved started!! Do ya think I should get it done this weekend?!? Probably a good idea, considering I'm going home next Friday. Meh! Details, details.

Day 16 of the advent...

Thursday, December 09, 2004

Details, detail, details...

I've booked my flight home. I leave Van. 11:30 am Dec. 24th and arrive in Toronto @ 7 pm. Boy will that be a long day!! I'm at the parentals for 4 days. I fly out Dec. 28th @ 9:45 pm arriving back in Van. @ 11:55 pm. Thank god for the time difference!!

I'm hoping to go to Ptbo on Monday to do some visiting. Although, this is clearly weather dependant. I really love that the weather here is only ever rainy. Plans will rarely get delayed because of the weather. Anyways...back on topic. I'll keep you posted on my plans. Here's hoping everything works out!

15 sleeps til I go home...

And the verdict is...

I can go home for Christmas!!

Sunday, December 05, 2004

Long time, no post...

Ok, so I've been ignoring my blogging world lately. Apologies to anyone that may actually be checking this on a regular basis.

So I've now been at work for 3 weeks. It's not too bad. Most of the time I'm pretty bored because the phone doesn't ring that much and right now they haven't given me that much to do. Oh well, shouldn't complain...it's way better than Minacs!!

So, now the question is: do I come home for Christmas? I'm asking work tomorrow if I can even leave early on Christmas Eve so I can catch a flight home. If that's a yes, then I'll probably go home. I have four days off from work, 25-28, so I have enough time to come home. I guess I'll have to wait til I know if I can leave work or not. I'll keep you posted...

Officially employed!!!

Ok, it's true. I am employed. For real. Forever. Not temp work. Which is what I started today. So....I'll be working tomorrow and Friday for the temp agency and then Monday I start at the real job. Oh yeah and in BC Nov. 11 is a stat. holiday!! Oh the crazyness of it all.

As promised, I'm too excited to hold it back! So there you go. You're almost the first to know.

So I leave you with this:

Wooooooo Hooooooo!!!!!!!!!! I AM EMPLOYED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Halloween baby!

Yo!

So I've had 2 interview so far. Hoping for more...I've been applying to a lot of job ads. Office clerk, admin. assistant, reception kinda stuff. Keep your fingers crossed.

Not much else to report. Getting to know the area. Been on the Skytrain, which is basically a subway train in the air. It's pretty cool. Saw The Grudge the other night. It was ok. I thought it was scary at parts, but it's mostly the stupid scary music they like to add in.

Anyways I'll post when I get a job. I think I'll be too excited to keep it quiet!!

I'm back!!!

K, this is my first post in a while. Let's see...

-I'm in BC!! It's so beautiful here. I could really get used to it! Oh wait, I can get used to it, it's my home sweet home.
-We have a nice apartment, I'll post a pic or two sometime.
-Starting to get to know the area. There are some really pretty areas here, and it's still weird to see mountains when we're driving down the street.
-Working on the job part. Soon as I have something you'll be the first to hear!
-IKEA is 15 minutes from here! For those that know me well you'll realize why that's good AND bad.
-We just got high speed so I'll be online more, and I can actually respond back to emails, too.

That's all for now...

Ok this is it!

Hey kids, this is the last post of mine for a while. Today my stuff gets moved home from Ptbo and then loaded on the moving truck tomorrow, then we're off on Sunday! So the moral of my little story is that I will, sadly, be without internet for a while.

I'm excited to be going, but also sad. I'm really going to miss everyone so much. As soon as I have internet I'll be letting everyone know. Oh yeah and if you haven't taken a look at Skype, I'd reccomend doing so. It's voice chat software that works with Mac and PC. Anyways, take a look, it's pretty cool.

So take care and I'll chat again soon...

So...

it's been a whole week since I last posted. I'm not really sure what I've done other than pack. My brain is in vacation mode, so it's hard to remember what I've been up to.

I have been saying goodbye to people through various get togethers. Went to Champs Wednesday, fun times although the waitress was a little slow! Went shoping to T.O. and Whitby with Jeff and Lynda Friday and then we went to Larry and Terri's that night. It was sad seeing some people for the last time, but it was still fun. Always interesting to be one of the few sober people at parties...

On the packing front, I now have almost 10 rubbermaid containers filled! And a few boxes, too. I'm doing pretty well. We're down to about a week til we leave. Still no apartment or job. Working on the apartment at the moment. There's a sweet one we're trying to get. Keep your fingers crossed it's ours!

Sunday, September 12, 2004

Hey...

It's been a pretty busy week. Wednesday was spent in T.O. at the Eaton's Centre and walking around downtown. Then we went to Boston Pizza for Jamie's birthday. After that since it was a Wednesday we went to The Trash for Retro Night! We danced up a storm...

Thursday started off with a trip to McDonald's for breakfast. Then we went to Costco where I got a great laptop/messenger bag.

Friday I ran some errands in preparation for the big move and at night we had some people over for a going away party. Thanks guys for coming!

Then Saturday morning I went home with Kenny for my family car rally. For those who haven't been on one before it's basically a treasure hunt in a car, where you find answers to clues while driving around. We were on a team with my cousin Brandyn and his fiancee Mel...and we got third place, with 2 other teams! A three way tie for third!! Not too shabby, if I do say myself. We had lots to eat and chatted around the campfire. Good times. It was kinda sad because it's probably the last time I'll see most of my family.

On the packing front...I have finally made some progress. 3 rubbermaid containers and 2 boxes fully packed. Yay me!

A long weekend...

The long weekend (which for me is like any other weekend) is coming to a close. Had a lazy Saturday watching TV, then went to a wedding. Yummy food and dancing!! Stayed up way too late...

Sunday night I hung out with my boys. Let's just say it was fun, but I'm not sure I'll be doing it again soon. Stayed up way too late again... (are we sensing a pattern here?)

Slept in today. It was pretty nice. Went to Smitty's with Kenny. Hash browns and toast/jam rocks!

Now I'm chillaxin' alone. Kinda bored though. Anyone wanna amuse me?

Thursday, September 02, 2004

Honey I'm home!

Yes it's true! I'm back...2 doctors appointments down, one to go!

I got to spend some time with the family...and I even washed my car! Stella looks spiffy!

It's beginning to sink in that I'm leaving. I'm really starting to miss everyone. I know, I know...already! I haven't even left yet and I miss you guys. I think it's because I'm so used to seeing the people I worked with everyday that it was like having another family.

It's been almost a week since my last day at work. And I tell ya, I could really get used to this not working thing. Oh yeah, except for the lack of money coming in. But that aside, not working has been good to me so far. Shopping, sleeping, visiting...what more could I ask for?

Tuesday, August 31, 2004

Yeah, so...

The past couple days have been spent shopping. IKEA, Winners, the usual spots. Don't worry I haven't bought much. Just a couple things for the new apartment. Once we get one that is. I've packed a few more things. Nothing major though. Tomorrow I'm going to the 'Bridge for a couple of dr's apointments. Fun fun. Oh well...gotta be done. The point is the packing is yet again going to be delayed. Meh, it'll get done. I'm not too concerned.

Sunday, August 29, 2004

Tomorrow is...

...the first day of the rest of my life. AKA it's time to start planning/packing. I'm now done work. And boy does that feel weird. Walking out on Friday was very different.

So...now I actually have to start packing. And get my car in for service. And I have a few appointmets to go to. And oh yeah it'd probably be good to find a place to live. Details, details.

The wedding was great. Took some photos and some video. Made a little video CD for the happy couple. Ate lots of good food. Got to see some family before leaving which is nice. I'll miss you guys a lot.

Anyways, that's all for now.

Tuesday, August 24, 2004

And the verdict is...

Packing will so not be started this week. It's already Tuesday night. And then comes Wednesday, which I have plans for. And then it's already Thursday, which means I have to pack up for the weekend. I need to leave right away from work on Friday to go home to go to Barrie for my cousin's wedding. Sigh. My last week of work and it's almost over.

Next week I'll get to enjoy some R'n'R. And hopefully at some point hangout with some people. I'm really going to miss you guys. A lot. I'm getting sad thinking about it now.

That's all for now...busy rest of the week here I come!

P.S. yes it's significant. Let's just say it'll be staying where it is. And coming with me for sure...

Weekend so far...part 2

Ok, so yesterday Kenny and I went to Charlotte Anne's for lunch. Well it was actually breakfast if we're going to be technical. But anyways...I always enjoy my meal when I eat there. I'm going to miss it. It's one of my favourite places to eat here. Then we went to the mall. Bought a couple things and then went back home. Visited with Lynda, Jeff and Terrell for a bit. We decided we should go out later, so we made plans to meet at Terrell's. We ended up staying at her place playing Cranium, which for those of you that haven't played it's kinda like trivial pursuit, pictionary and charades all in one. Pretty good game.

Today we slept in. Yay for sleep! The we ate some breakfast and walked the streets of downtown Ptbo. Bought a few more little things like bubble wrap and tape to aid in my packing.

Now I'm hanging out alone. Chillaxin'. It's nice. Back to work tomorrow. 37.5 hours to go. Unless of course I get stuck on calls any night this week. It has a good chance of happening. A really good chance.

Packing will happen this week. For real.

Saturday, August 21, 2004

Weekend so far...

Finished work last night @ 5pm. Don't have to work til Monday @ 9am. What's a girl to do for an entire weekend off!?!

Kenny came up last night. We went to dinner at the Olde Stone. Yum yum! The food and the boys, too! The we went to the Trash. Bad idea. Apparently it was fetish fun night. We did a 180 and promptly left. The Rooster was the next stop. Everything appeared normal and if nothing else it was pretty slow. $4 later and we're in. It picked up and this girl got her groove on for most of the night. Ah yes, dancing! Oh how I love to dance!

On the countdown front, it's 5 days left. Or 37.5 hours if you want to be specific.

On the packing front. I still have less than a box packed. BUT I will be starting more this week probably. I'm home alone most of the week and I'll be making good use of the time.

More tomorrow...

Wednesday, August 18, 2004

It's official!!

I've started packing!!! Ok, so I don't even have a full box yet. But it is a start. And that's what matters! It's hard to pack at this point. So much of my stuff I need still. And then there's the fact that I don't any boxes or rubbermaid containers. Details, details, I know.

Oh yeah...countdown details. It's now 7 days of work left til I'm free!!

That's all folks!

9 days to go...

So it's less than 2 weeks of work left. I'm down to 9 days left. Soon I'll be counting the hours. I got to mentor again today! Woo hoo!

Had a busy weekend. Went to a pool party that turned more into a pool table party. But I'm ok with that. ; - ) Went to visit Sally and Rob on Sunday for a barbeque. Shish-kabob's...yum!!

Need more sleep...

Thursday, August 12, 2004

Yeah so...

I work my last night shift tomorrow. It's kinda a weird feeling. It'll be a lot more weird my last day of course, but it's a nice feeling knowing I don't have to work another night shift at Minacs. 2 weeks of days and I'm done! And to top if off I get to work my last days at Minacs with some of my bestest buds!

I have yet to start packing (although some of us apparently can't wait!...Kenny!!) I'm sure I'm going to leave it all to the last minute. But then again at this rate we don't know exactly when we'll be going so I don't really know when the last minute will actually be. : - )

I'm glad I have some family stuff coming up so that I can see most people before I leave. It's going to be hard to be so far from everyone when I'm so used to seeing everyone on a fairly regular basis. I guess email and chatting will have to do. Oh yeah and in case you didn't know, you're all coming to visit!!

P.S. - it's 11 days left of work and I can't wait!

Repeated Behaviour is Habit!

Isn't it funny how you can be smart and logical and rational...and yet stupid all at the very same time. It has come to my attention that although I'm probably one of the most logical people I know, I too can be stupid at times. (Ok, ok, so maybe a lot of the times). I guess maybe it's not stupid, but rather ruled by my emotions which is something I rarely am. Sometimes it's a good thing like moving across the country. Very illogical with no employment or residence. Other times it's not such a good thing like when I let myself get hurt because I don't know how to let go. I guess it's all part of learning and growing. Sometimes though I don't want to grow up...but I guess it's true that growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional. I choose to grow up...

3 weeks to go...

So the memory card actually arrived on time. I got it around 12pm Friday! And the best part is that Dell hasn't charged me yet for it. I know they will, it's just kinda funny that's all. I haven't really had a chance to take many pictures yet, but let's just say that Nacho is a Diva Model now. : - )

So I have 3 more weeks left of work and it's kinda crazy to think that I won't be working there (or at all) in just 3 weeks. It makes me happy that I won't be a phone monkey anymore but sad that I'll be missing my friends from work. They're my second family since we get to spend so much time together at work. I've gotten to know a few people pretty well and those are the ones that I will miss the most because although there is the online world to keep in touch it's just not the same.

I'm going to be pretty busy in the next 6 weeks or so. By the time I finish work it's only 3 weeks to go. I have plans almost every weekend between family stuff like a wedding and hanging with friends, too. I'm glad I get to see a lot of people before I leave it's just going to be tiring with all that stuff going on. Oh well, there's always next year to sleep!

Wednesday, August 04, 2004

Round 2...

Ok, so I've ordered again from Dell. We'll see how this time goes. They had a memory card on sale. And I mean on sale! So I ordered it tonight and it should be here next week.

And the countdown continues...17 days and counting...

Monday, August 02, 2004

the countdown is on...

So it's a good thing I got paid lots of money because I so did not have fun working today. Most of my friends were off for the day and there I was slaving away at the office. The unfairness of it all! Oh well...19 more days to go!! Yay!!

On another note...19 more days of work!! Woo hoo! Can you tell I can't wait to not work there? I'll be counting the hours soon enough...

p.s. who wants to bet I leave everything, you know, like packing up my life, til the last minute!

Friday, July 30, 2004

It's here!!

So the beloved camera has arrived (after a fight with Dell over the price) and it's great! I'm just playing with it now and so far so good.

So it's 4 weeks until I'm finished work and let me tell you I can't wait!! My last day is going to be August 27th, which will give me about three weeks to pack up my life and see all the people I need to see before I leave. It's coming up so soon and other times it seems like it's taking forever to get there.

That's about it for now...

Later gators!!

Sunday, July 25, 2004

2 months to go...

So i just ordered a digital camera online so I can document my trip to BC and well, because I did want one anyways. This just motivated me to get one a little sooner. I ordered it now even though I won't be leaving for a while so I can play with it before I leave. I've wanted one for a while and have spent a few days looking around at different models and then decided on one, found a good price and ordered it! It'll be here around Aug 4th...can't wait!

P.S. next purchase...a printer...

Saturday, July 24, 2004

So...

The day we're leaving has been pushed back a week or so. Now we'll be leaving the third week of September. This gives me more time to work, save money and pack up my life. I'm excited to move, but also sad. I'll be leaving my friends and family. I'm most sad that I won't be around for the planning of my best friend/cousin Lisa's wedding. I'm part of the wedding party and I won't be around for most of it, depending on if I like it in BC and want to stay. If I don't like it there's a chance I'll be home in plenty of time for the wedding planning.

I'm almost starting the countdown til the last day of work! It's about 2 months now and I can't wait til I'm done!

Tuesday, July 20, 2004

Do I stay or do I go?

So I've been going back and forth...do I move clear across the country? Or do I stay in a city I don't really like, at a job I know I don't like? It's a big move. And I'm decided. I'm going. That's right Kenny. You read it here first. I am one hundred percent decided! I'm moving to Vancouver!!! Good god what I am I getting myself into! Don't get me wrong. I'm pretty excited about it already. But scared at the same time. It's pretty far from my family and friends...and they are so very important to me. I know we can keep in touch via email and chats. And that's why I started this...an easy way to keep people updated on my life. And convienent too! You can read it whenever your little hearts desire....but Vancouver is so very far away.

Sunday, July 18, 2004

And so it begins...

I've started this because I'm soon embarking on a journey that will take me to the Vancouver area and this is a great way for family and friends to keep updated on the happenings of my life.

I'll keep updating as things progress with the move and my life.

Take care...
