fantastic wonderful news!!

There's an East Side Mario's here!!!

Yes, that's right.

My favourite restaurant is now completely in driving distance from my place.

In fact, it's at one of the malls here. Good food and good shopping...does it get any better?! I don't think so!

Update in the life of me...

Let's see...it's been a while. Sadly though, there isn't much to share.

-been working lots of hours lately
-work Christmas party was this past week. helped to plan it. went on a dinner cruise. good times.
-Stella passed her AirCare test with flying colours. for any of you Ontario people that may be reading this, that's like Clean Air there. The tech actually said her results were tremendous! She's re-insured and good for another year.
-been thinking more about moving out on my own. looked at one place, but didn't get it. that's ok though it was really tiny, an attic apartment.
-in case you haven't heard I'm not going home for Christmas

I guess that's all for now kids, nothing else to report.

The reviews are in...

I had my 6 month performance review today. It went pretty well I think. I'm doing better, getting more comfortable and confident in my role. There's some things to work on, but that's to be expected for 6 months in.

And then there's the part where I got a raise. Yay me!!

1 month, 11 days, 9 hours, 47 minutes...

until Christmas.

And in case you were wondering, Christmas has exploded at the malls out here.

Santa's house, the little train, the works.

Sigh...

Something borrowed...

I borrowed this post idea from Lesley.

You put "[your name] needs" into a search engine and see what comes up. Post some of the funniest ones.

Here's mine:

-Stephanie needs a strong manly shoulder to lean on
-Stephanie needs to move to Omaha
-Stephanie needs to seek some serious professional help
-Stephanie needs to find the secret location

Well, I don't think I need to move to Omaha, and I suppose some would say I need professional help. I'm ok with the strong manly shoulder as long as the body it's attached to is equally strong and manly!

Sidewalk chalk - in 3D!

I stumbled across this site and it's really awesome. The chalk drawings are very realistic. When I saw the first one I couldn't even tell it was a chalk drawing.

Sunday, October 09, 2005

Give a little thanks

Lots of family today. Lots of food, too. Played a little cards, lost a little money.

more friends and more food

Spent the afternoon with Amanda. Wally World, Timmy's and Zehrs. Zehrs has stepped it up with some renos and self checkout.

Went down to Yorkdale. Walked the mall a bit. Only thing I bought is some ear buds. They rock! Had dinner at Casey's with Phil. Too short, but good nonetheless.

Friends & food

Spent the day with Jamie and Shane. Lots of chatting, driving, music and the mall. Dined at the food court. Did a little shopping. Still didn't buy anything. Stopped by the Apple Store. Saw Phil. Made dinner plans for tomorrow night.

Old friends and a Mustang

Spent some time with friends I used to work with in Whitby. It was nice to see them. It'd been a long time for some.

Stopped by the mall. Didn't buy anything. Odd.

Went to the P-dot. Sushi with Lynda. Went to Lindsay to see Jeff's band play at an open mic. Good times. Back to Lynda & Jeff's for the night. Thanks guys.

Oh yeah, did I mention I was driving a Mustang convertable all day?

Feelin' sassy

Well, I got my hair cut and coloured. It's shorter, with blonde and a little red, too. Feelin my sassy self again.

Took grandma for dinner at Swiss Chalet. Yum yum. The Swiss isn't very popular out here. Odd.

Dropped by the bowling alley. Got to see some wedding pics. Also got an invite to dinner tomorrow.

A slow day

Had a great lunch with Holly today. Went to a pub at Lake Simcoe. Amazing food!

Had dinner with Dad & Steve. Pizza, salad & garlic bread. Yum!

Did a quick Timmy's run with Lesley. Aww, Timmy's! Some things never change.

And it begins...

My busy week that is.

Today was Markham Fair with Mel & Brandyn. It never changes & I love that.

French fries, ice cream, awesome weather, great company.

It doesn't get any better than that.

Here comes the bride!

Today is the day.

It seemed like it was never going to get here and here it is!

It was a very busy day, so you aren't getting any details. Then again, most of you were there...

Up early, limo, hair, limo, food, dress, makeup, pictures, limo, church, nervous, married, family, limo, more pictures, dinner, speech, dancing. Tired.

Too early...

I was up way too early this morning. Felt like 5, I'm still on BC time. Had my last dress fitting this morning. Ran some errands with Lisa and the girls. Got her wedding dress. Picked up the alcohol for the reception. Did the rehearsal thing, which is good because I'm a wedding party virigin and need all the help I can get. Had dinner at Lisa's fave restaurant, Kallie's. Then Sherri and I did last minute prep for the slideshow.

Time for sleep...

Back in the 'bridge

Well, I'm back in the 'bridge. Flight was good. Arrived early even. Good times.

More to come later...

Wednesday, September 28, 2005

Tomorrow, tomorrow!

I fly out tomorrow afternoon. I think I'm ready. Everything is packed. I have snacks and stuff to amuse me on the flight. I think I'm good to go.

Woo hoo!!

How could I forget??

Oh my goodness, the Jann Arden concert is coming up very soon. Like 2 weeks soon. Can't wait!

Saturday, September 24, 2005

So....

Guess what? Yep that's right. I'm visiting Ontario again.

I know, I know. You're very excited. Me too. Can't wait in fact. Well, I fly out this coming Thursday afternoon. Then it's Lisa's wedding on the Saturday. The following week I'm going into work for one day at our head office in Markham. I'm kinda excited, it'll be nice to put a face to the voices I talk to so often. Other than that, all I have planned (right now anyways) is some relaxation. I've been working a lot of hours this past week at work. So if by chance you read this and want to do something, let me know already!

You know what's a little deceiving?

The big brown truck, you know UPS, well it isn't entirely big AND brown. While it is big, there is a portion of the truck that isn't brown. The top of the truck is white. I know! It's crazy! Maybe there's a good reason, like the truck would asborb more heat if it was brown on top or something. I don't know.

This is the weird stuff you notice when you're randomly looking out of the window in your second floor office.

Thinking back...

way back to February of this year? When Stella and I were involved in a little boo-boo?

Yes well, apparently the guy reponsible for for the hit-and-run portion of that day is disputing his ticket. Huh, well I'll be damned! I guess 3 witnesses, me and the guy in front of me isn't enough for him. Guess I'll be seeing you in court!

RIP Chewie

Together we can help.

You know what really pisses me off?? When celebrities make commercials asking for help from regular people in times of disaster! You know what, Miss Simpson, I certainly didn't make millions of dollars this year, perhaps you could share just a little bit of your hard earned cash to help these people out. I don't have any money to spare. I have to pay my rent and bills, and try to save some money for my future with what little I have. And I'm doing pretty good compared to a lot of other people. Instead of donating your time, send Mr. Lincoln and Mr. Jefferson on down to help.

Ok?

This is me and Kenny at the Calgary Zoo!

Pretty Giraffe!

Ok, so the next time Kenny and I think about driving anywhere outside of the Lower Mainland, someone please smack us! Apparently almost 10 months makes you forget how friggin' far it is to Calgary. First, we went there because one of Kenny's cousins got married. On a Friday. Enough said.

Anyways, so we thought we could leave Thursday around 4pm and drive all night. Bad idea. We almost made it to Kamloops. Almost, I said. We decided to stop for the night and get a nice early start in the morning. Ok, fine. We stopped at a tiny town called Ashcroft. This was after we hit much construction. All I have to say is that you had to go to the pub to find someone so you could check in and check out. And the beds - the softest hardest bed I've ever slept on. Honestly.

So, we got up mega early and made it to the Sheraton in Calgary around 4:30pm their time. (That would be after about 12 hours of driving). We managed to find the zoo where the reception was being held. Good times. Got my groove on for a bit.

The best part of the Sheraton? Oh my good god, the bed! It's called a Sweet Sleeper. And yes, the sleep is quite sweet. We're talkin' feather bed, pillows, etc. So soft and comfy. Like being hugged the whole night. Kicked ass!

Fast forward to this morning. Early. Really, really early. We're talking 4:30 BC time. Yeah. 4:30 in the morning! We left, got Timmy's and barely stopped on the way home. 10 hours later and we're home sweet home. I love home.

Moral of the story: Calgary is really far away!

I had a dream...

and this is odd in two ways.

First because I rarely ever remember my dreams.

Second, because in my dream I was in a plane crash...over water. Amazingly, I survived. But of course I lost everything I had with me. Including my identification. Birth certificate, license, sin card. Gone, all of it.

In essence, I no longer existed.

A very bizarre feeling...

I just really like that song.

Transportation...check!

I've booked my flight home.

Arrival: Thursday September 29th 11:30 pm
Departure: Monday October 10th 11:40 am

Yes, that's 10 days at home!

One day I'm going to work at our head office, but other than that I'm good to go!

If you read this and want to get together, let me know...

Monday, August 08, 2005

And it begins...

So! I'm starting to plan my next trip home, around the 1st of October.

Yes I know, it's almost 2 months til then. But there's lots to do. I have to book my flight for starters. Gotta love seat sales! Once my flights are booked, I'll keep things posted. You know, just in case you wanna meet up or something. I'll have about a week home or so. But I am a little busy being a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding. Can't wait!!

Sunday, August 07, 2005

21 degrees and beautiful!

It's another sunshiney day in Vancouver. I've actually lost track of the number of days we've had without rain...

Yay for the streak of awesome weather!

Monday, August 01, 2005

So it took this long...

I had the weirdest feeling the other day. I was homesick. Yes people, it took 10 months for me to get homesick. I think I did pretty good. Given I did get to go home twice since moving here, but still...not too shabby, if I do say so myself!

It was a weird feeling. I wanted to pack what I needed into my car and drive home. Not fly home for a visit, but take my stuff and 'go home'. By the time I got to Hope I probably would have turned back around. Yes kids, there is a town called Hope here. It's a few hours away on the Trans Canada Highway. Anyways, I think I just missed having the chance to do something all the time. Not that I always had plans, but if I wanted to do something it usually wasn't too difficult to find someone to do it with in Ptbo. Here I don't have any friends. It makes me appreciate the ones I have back home because those friends are awesome. (I miss you guys!!) I'm finding it difficult to find quality people to hangout with here. It might seem funny to most people that finding friends is hard, but when you generally make a lot of friends at work and you now only have 8 other people in your office, your usual method isn't going to work.

So...

I've decided I need to make some changes. I need to be less cautious and just get out there! I also need to be more active. I'm much happier and feel better when I at least walk for a bit every night. May as well make use of the iPod I have, too!

I just had my ass kicked!

Ok, so first things first. I really tried to shop without being reponsible. I really did. But things didn't fit. They really didn't, I'm not just saying that. But I did get a few things. And it's not my fault they were on sale. For 40% off! I bought a t-shirt from Jacob, a Pilates DVD and some workout clothes.

Speaking of Pilates, it totally kicked my ass tonight! I'm trying to get in better shape. It's been a goal of mine for a while, but I had to get some other things in order first. So anyways, I got a DVD on the weekend, with 10 minute sets of exercises aimed at abs, butt/thighs, etc etc. I tried it for the first time tonight. Wow, I'm so out of shape! If I can keep it up, soon I'll be kickin' some Pilates ass!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Well today I turned the big 2 5! I was asked if I felt different, and I don't. I mean, isn't it great everyday when you wake up and you've lived one more day? It just so happens that some days it's a bigger milestone.

The above picture is from the cake we had at work today. We have a little meeting and some type of dessert whenever it's someones birthday at work. It's kinda nice. They got me a chocolate cake today. Yum!

After work, Kenny took me to TGIFriday's for dinner and gave me some money to shop with. Normally I'm very responsible and rational when I shop, so they idea is to be the complete opposite. It's hard to stop when I'm so used to my way. I guess I'll have to try pretty hard today when we hit the mall.

That's all kids!

P.S. thanks for all the birthday e-cards and such!

Where is the love?

It seems it's everywhere these days.

A couple kissing in London Drugs.

I've seen holding hands on the street.

Cuddling on the pier.

What's with it?

More importantly, where's mine?

Less than a week...

and then I'll be 25. A quarter of a century. I wonder if I'm having a quarter life crisis.

They call it the "Quarter-life Crisis." It is when you stop going along with the crowd and start realizing that there are many things about yourself that you didn't know and may not like. You start feeling insecure and wonder where you will be in a year or two, but then get scared because you barely know where you are now.

You start realizing that people are selfish and that, maybe, those friends that you thought you were so close to aren't exactly the greatest people you have ever met, and the people you have lost touch with are some of the most important ones. What you don't recognize is that they are realizing that too, and aren't really cold, catty, mean or insincere, but that they are as confused as you.

You look at your job... and it is not even close to what you thought you would be doing, or maybe you are looking for a job and realizing that you are going to have to start at the bottom and that scares you.

Your opinions have gotten stronger. You see what others are doing and find yourself judging more than usual because suddenly you realize that you have certain boundaries in your life and are constantly adding things to your list of what is acceptable and what isn't. One minute, you are insecure and then the next, secure. You laugh and cry with the greatest force of your life. You feel alone and scared and confused.

Suddenly, change is the enemy and you try and cling on to the past with dear life, but soon realize that the past is drifting further and further away, and there is nothing to do but stay where you are or move forward.

You get your heart broken and wonder how someone you loved could do such damage to you. Or you lie in bed and wonder why you can't meet anyone decent enough that you want to get to know better. Or maybe you love someone but love someone else too and cannot figure out why you are doing this because you know that you aren't a bad person. One night stands and random hook ups start to look cheap. Getting wasted and acting like an idiot starts to look pathetic.

You go through the same emotions and questions over and over, and talk with your friends about the same topics because you cannot seem to make a decision. You worry about loans, money, the future and making a life for yourself... and while winning the race would be great, right now you'd just like to be a contender!

What do you think?

I got air!!

Well I played my 3rd ever game of golf yesterday. It was a work event, so I got to spend the afternoon outside in the sun and fresh air. We played at Nico-Wynd in South Surrey. It was a nice course, with only 9 holes. A good number for the non-golfers in the group. Long story short, I was part of the first team to play and we had 3 players vs. 4 on the other teams. I was the least experienced, but the other 2 gave me nice tips, which actually helped my game. We ended up winning with 3 over par...pretty good! So after the first hole I made contact with the ball on the first try. After a few holes, the ball was going further....then it even got some air! Woo hoo!!

The moral of the story is that I don't hate golf anymore, but I don't think I'm going to go pro anytime soon.

Where do I start!

Ok, so I had a super busy, super fun weekend. Got to the airport Thursday night and breezed through everything due to the speedy new web checkin WestJet has. The flight was good although I only slept about 3 hours (I took the overnighter). Got into T.O. at about 7am est and Lisa was waiting for me. On the way back to her place, we grabbed some Mickey D's. Had dress fitting number 1, got updated on all the wedding details and went to the mall. Then it was off to see grandma and have some lunch. Rested for the afternoon and got picked up by dad. Visited with the family and then it was time for much needed sleep. Up and at 'em bright and early and headed down for the wedding. The ceremony was sweet and at the reception I got my groove on for a bit. Good times!

Are you as tired as I was right about then??

Ok, then I got up Sunday morning with the family and had some breakie. Back in the car for a few hours with a quick stop for dress fitting number 2. Rest for a bit at home, then back in the car for the short trip to Ptbo. Had a hot fudge sundae at the new DQ/Orange Julius and then off to Doug's for some catch up time. A little while later we headed to, you guessed it, East Side Marios!! In case I haven't informed you, the closest one to me here is about 4ish hours away. Anyways, salad, garlic bread and Angel Hair Primavera for me! Yum yum!! Glad I got to see you guys, I miss you tons! After dinner I got to visit with my Nacho. She looks good and she wasn't too pissy with me for leaving her her. Oh yeah, she might even move to BC soon! More sleep and then I was up for my last day in Ontario. Went to visit with Jax and the kids. Jarod remembered me after a bit (Candy!!) and Haleigh is so cute! A quick trip to IKEA on the way down to the airport (and I do mean quick, we even had time to stop off at Yorkdale) and then it was time to go to the airport. Got me some food and a magazine and waited til my flight was boarding. The flight was good, a little turbulence and it actually went by pretty quickly (with the help of my iPod Juan of course). We touched down early, Kenny came to pick me up and I was home sweet home again.

P.S. Thanks to everyone who helped me out, by picking me up and driving me around. I appreciate it more than you know.

Thursday, June 02, 2005

Tonight is the night!

I fly out tonight!! Yay!!

Sorry I haven't been updating lately, just had lots going on, so I'll keep this short:

-Mom is at home and doing fairly well. The angioplasty went well.
-Work is going well so far.
-I'm pretty much packed up and ready to go (as if I wasn't, right?)
-I think today is going to be the longest day ever!

Ciao!

The newest one!

Well I've done it again. Only took me 6 years to get this one. This was done last night at Adrenaline in Vancouver. It's the symbol for Cancer, my zodiac sign, for those not in the know!

It's still a little red, but I love it anyways. Oh yeah, it's on the outside of my right ankle.

What's next....?

Thursday, May 26, 2005

Angio what??

Ok, so here's where I get serious for a little bit. My mom had a another heart attack this past Saturday. The first one was about 3 years ago or so. She's been in a hospital in Mississauga since Saturday. She had an angiogram yesterday and they found blockage in her heart. So now she needs to have an angioplasty. This should occur tomorrow or Monday. Here's hoping it goes well. Keep your fingers crossed!

I ate fire and lived to tell about it!

Ok, so it wasn't literally fire but it was very hot quesadillas! They had a little too much jalapeno peppers for my taste though. After removing most of them, I finally felt my taste buds again. Yay for that!

Then I bought an entire outfit in one trip to the mall. Shoes, too. Pretty awesome for me. Now I have some fancy new duds to wear to the upcoming wedding. Awesomeness!

That is all for now...

Friday, May 20, 2005

I'm unemployed!

Well technically for the next three days I am. Then I start my new job. Can I get a woo hoo for that!

Thursday, May 19, 2005

Yet Another Countdown!

2 weeks til I fly home...

Saturday, May 14, 2005

Honey, I'm coming home!

Yes it is true! I am indeed coming home. I'll be flying in bright and early Friday June 3rd and jetting back out Monday June 6th around dinner time. Yeah it's short and sweet, but I am just starting the new job just before that and they're being really good about me getting a couple days off. They rock!

So my plan is to somehow get to Ptbo to visit on the Sunday night and Monday. It'll be a short visit, but that's all I can manage right now. I miss you guys a lot though and I really want to see you. You know who you are!

Jax - I bookmarked your site already! I can't wait to see you and the kids and catch up a little! I'll keep you posted on the details...

Saturday, May 07, 2005

You know what?

A little audience participation would be nice people!

I saw Santa...

and no he wasn't kissing Mommy. I now know what he does from February til October-ish. The other months he's preparing for Christmas and then resting in January. But at all other times, he's working Security at the Pacific Coliseum! Yep, that's right he was working at the Maroon 5 concert on Sunday night. If I had a camera with me I would've taken a pic to prove it.

It's true, it really is. Santa is security!

I'm in love with a boy and his name is Adam!

Relax, he's from Maroon 5! Tonight was the night; we saw Maroon 5 in concert at the Pacific Coliseum! It was an awesome night! They did all my faves! Harder to Breathe, This Love, Sunday Morning and She Will Be Loved. Ahh, how I love them!

But seriously, it was a really good concert. They put on a good show and even came back for an encore.

Well there was one part where I was being dripped on by an unidentified substance. Appeared to be coke and/or rum/rye. And it was coming from the box seats. Gotta love them. But my good friend Mr. Host got it all taken care of.

That's all for now kids...this chicka needs some sleep!

The world bursts at the seams with people ready to tell you you're not good enough.

On occasion; some may be correct.

But do not do their work for them. Seek any job; ask anyone out; persue any goal.

Don't take it personally when they say "no" - they may not be smart enough to say "yes".

Yay, sunshine!

It was such a beautiful weekend! All I can say is it was hair up-tank top-shorts-flip flops kinda weather. Yes, it was that hot! It was super!

Just super!

Oh Margaret!

So Friday night was the big night! We finally saw Margaret Cho. She is very funny stuff. Nothing like almost 2 hours of laughing your ass off. The theatre was pretty nice too. We were in row 9 on the rght side and the seats were pretty good. Jann Arden is coming to the same theatre in October. I'd love to see her!

Dear Whoever Actually Reads This:

Well it appears I have been neglecting my blogger duties. It's been quite while since I last posted. My sincerest apologies!

I've actually been quite busy lately. At work too, even. I've been involved in planning a conference at work, which meant I had a lot of extra stuff to do. The conference was held at a hotel in downtown Vancouver for 2 days last week. Fun times, except for the part where I was up at 4 am to get downtown for 6! Oh, and the 10 & 1/2 hour day wasn't too fun, either. But nonetheless it was a good couple of days as well as good experience planning an event for 75 people from around the world.

Let's see...what else...I'm still trying to find a part time job. So far nothing. I've applied for quite a few jobs, but either nothing becomes of it or the interview times are during the weekdays, when I can't attend. Oh well, something will come up sooner or later.

We've been here a whole 6 months now! It's been pretty great so far. I really love the weather and the awesome views. I don't think I've reminded you lately, come visit!

I'm starting to make plans to go home in June for Brandyn and Mel's wedding. Haven't decided how many days I'll be home for yet. It seems like I'd never have enough to do all I want to do and see all the people I want to see. So that's why you people need to come visit already! Like, c'mon!

'Til the ocean waves....

It made it!

It's a good thing it arrived today, because I'm really not patient when I order something online. I tracked the iPod last night and it was scheduled to arrive today. Well lo and behold, it arrived at work bright and early around 9am. BUT that meant that I had to last the whole day to play with it! I did survive...barely!

That's all for now kids, I be playing with my 'Pod right now...

Less than a month!

Oh yes, it's true! It is less than one month until we see Margaret. Yes, Maragret Cho! As in, "this is not the salad of my people!" I can hardly wait. Oh how I love Margaret. And speaking of Margaret, thanks Jamie! We got your mail today.

AND THEN..."Is there anyone out there cause it's getting harder and harder to breathe". Yes, I know! Maroon 5!!! They are so coming to Van. May 1st and we are indeed going to see them! Kick ass!

The love of my life Lenny is also coming here, but alas that would be too many things costing too much $$ in a very short amount of time. Don't worry Lenny, our time will come.

P.S. both Stella and I have been given the a-ok from the doctor!

Ok, so Stella went in to get fixed a couple weeks ago. I just now got around to taking her pretty little picture today. Doesn't she look good?!

I got to drive a brand new Toyota Corolla around for a couple days. Pretty nice ride!

New hood - check!
New front bumper - check!
New rear bumper - check!
New hood latch - check!
New rad cover - check!

So Stella is as good as new now! And the Body Shop even gave her a bath inside AND out!

Nothing else to report at this time. Work is good. Getting busier lately, which is awesome.

Um, yeah so that's it for now kids...

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

Ok, so...some of you may have heard by now that Stella and I were involved in a little accident last weekend. A hit & run, actually. Basically, I was rear-ended by a 1500 pickup, which pushed Stella into the Honda CR-V in front of us. Then the pickup backed up to make it look like he hadn't hit me, then took off! Thank goodness for good samaritans at the Starbucks on the corner that got his license plate!!

So the good news is that the worst scratch on Stella from when she was keyed a few weeks back will be gone when her hood is replaced. The bad news is that we're a little banged up, but going to the Dr's to get fixed. And the ugly is Stella right now....

Um, yeah it is called sub sauce!

So tonight after work Dan and I decide to go to Subway because we have some coupons and let's face it, who doesn't love a good coupon now and then!? So, of course I order my usual veggie sub, and we get to the part where I need to choose my sauce. So I ask for "sub sauce" which of course clearly means "southwest". Um, no. So I point that out, and the "sandwich artist" asks "do you want me to make you a new one?". Um, yes. So, we start again. And then we get to the sauce part and I point out what one I want. So she tells me it's called "italian". Yeah ok, fine. Maybe it is. But if you weren't sure what I wanted, then you should have asked me which sauce I was asking for.

P.S. From Ontario straight through to BC, it's been called "sub sauce" at every Subway I've been to, so there!

I'm trying!

Ok Lurs, I read your blog and I'm trying to update more. Sadly my days of the work week are pretty much the same, so there's not much to post. I go to work for about 8 hours, then I either come home or go to Dan's. If it's Tuesday or Wednesday I usually watch American Idol. Oh yeah and Thursday night is Apprentice night at our house! Pretty boring I'd say!

Oh yeah there is the search for a part-time job I have going on now. I've been applying to some jobs like Jacob Connexion, IKEA and The Superstore. I know that working too much will probably make me very cranky but it's kinda neccesary to pay off the moving debt. Silly me for spontaneously deciding to move across the country. All I can say is, it was well worth it. And everyone should come join us here. If you haven't personally been given my recruitment speech already, consider this it!

Who doesn't love amazing views, the ocean 30 minutes away and kick ass weather!?!

I miss my dog...

What a week!

It's funny how a week can go by so slow and fast all at the same time! Every day at work is so boring and the hours drag by. But somehow it's already Thursday. Yay for that! I'm 12 days away from being a permanent full-time employee. Woo hoo!!

Been spending more time with the boy. Still going well. Buf of course I'm taking things slow. I have some trust issues leftover from Ontario. I'm working on it, but it's hard. It's like I'm expecting something bad to happen anytime now. That's going to change because I know I shouldn't be dooming things...

We've been here for 4 months now and I still can't believe I'm here! I see the mountains on the way home from work and I'm amazed. Of course I miss everyone back home, but I have to say, I really love it here. I'm happy.

So...

it appears that I haven't been posting as much as I should be. I guess there isn't too much happening here to post about. It's been raining, shocking I know! Work is fine.

I have developed a bad case of road rage since I moved here. Oh I had it before, yeah, but it's so much worse here. People don't know how to drive when the weather is anything other than dry and sunny. Grrrr!!!

Yeah so....

what have you been up to this fine new year? I've been hanging out and taking it easy so far, because I feel a cold coming on and I want to avoid it going full blown.

I had an interview with IKEA last weekend. Well at least I think you could call it an interview. I was there for about 10 minutes. It turns out that the position is less of a part time thing than they had advertised. Where the hell were they when I wasn't working?? Ah, well. What can you do. They'll keep my resume on file for six months, blah, blah, blah.

Work is, well work. Not too exciting. They haven't given me enough to do. Supposedly more will come up, but that's what they've been saying since well before Christmas. Oh well. It's a job.

I think that's about it...oh yeah, there is this boy I've been spending time with lately. So far so good!
